“ I did have to wait for my togo ordered longer than expected. Once the owner notified I was waiting she ask if we wanted anything to drink, offered us free dresser. I understand things happen and it was out of their control but they went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied despite the wait time. Not only was the owner a pleasure to deal with, all the other stuff were as well! ”

“ Folks let me tell ya. If you're within 50 miles of this place it is worth the trip to come and enjoy this family owned , local iconic eatery. We first heard about this place from the YouTube channel, John Ward Appalachian channel. So of course being from the state of NC we chose to make the trip. Now mind you, I now reside in Pennsylvania, 372 miles from the Milk Bar. We set out to spend a few days visiting the area and shopping the local shops and definitely trying the food that the Milk Bar had to offer. Five stars folks! What a pleasure it was to meet the owners and the wait staff were incredible. Sitting at the bar to not disturb the seating enjoyed by the locals, we had a superb lunch of fried chicken livers with green beans and mashed potatoes and gravy. I ordered the catfish nugget meal with macaroni and cheese and pickled beets , along with hush puppies. The plates were so bountiful that we had to take some in "to go" boxes. I also ordered a chicken cheese steak to go and had a cup of excellent coffee. Upon the second visit while in town we ordered the vegetable beef soup and a single cheeseburger with fries. We were given a complimentary corn bread with pimento cheese and a sample of their stir fry . Again all was so appreciated. The generosity is unsurpassed. We were greeted by the owners and spoke a few words as not to take their focus off the days tasks at hand. Super friendly folks and fast service is had by all. The clean and attentive environment operates like a "well oiled machine". The little town offers an incredible opportunity to experience a small town with incredible things to offer the community. Make it a day trip or stay a few days and check out all this " gem of a town " has to offer. ”
“ This is an old school family restaurant. Family owned and operated, they make all customers feel like family as well. The food is scrumptious and fresh. Cucumber onion salad, hot served black eye peas and corn, and golden fried catfish nuggets is a dish I eat so often that my waitress only needs to confirm what I want to drink. If you have never eaten there, you haven't eaten well. Did I tell you about the homemade deserts and hand-dipped Hersheys ice cream? ”
“ Lovely little place. This is one of your small town restaurants that brings out the best in Family style restaurants. I was told that the catfish nuggets are the best in the area. Well, I must admit they are quite tasty. The customer service was extremely exceptional. ”
“ Huge chicken tender basket and delicious huge chicken liver dinner. Their carrot raisin salad is exceptional. Light mayo dressing with plenty of pineapple juice so it's not dry or to much mayonaise. ”
